Beginning his adjusting career as an insurance company adjuster, Garland gained many years of experience with insurance carriers, acquiring valuable experience adjusting high-value commercial and residential claims. He has developed a thorough understanding of property insurance and applies a comprehensive, detail-focused approach to claims handling. Doug’s experience is also extended to the estimating and valuation of claims and includes proficiency with several claim-estimating programs providing him with the acute ability to analyze an insurance company prepared loss analysis in a highly detailed method.
Experience gained as a former company adjuster provides Garland with invaluable knowledge of the “insurance company perspective and methodology” giving him an added advantage that translates into better service for his clients through his intricate knowledge of the inside insurance company methodologies.
Involved in catastrophe work following Hurricanes Katrina, Ike, and Sandy, Garland was also deployed during many other widespread winter and summer disasters. As a catastrophe team member, he adjusted more than 3,000 claims in damaged areas.
An avid sports fan, Garland enjoys hockey and football. He is also a dedicated weightlifter.
