This past Thursday, a team from Rising Phoenix Holdings Corporation (RPHC) and Adjusters International, Basloe, Levin & Cuccaro volunteered as beverage pourers at Saranac Thursday in support of the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica area. RPHC is the parent company of the nation's leading disaster preparedness and recovery firms including but not limited to Adjusters International and Tidal Basin.

Saranac Thursdays are a popular event in Utica, NY that runs throughout the summer and raises money for the United Way. The event, now in its 21st year, takes place every Thursday throughout the summer from 5:30-9 pm. Various bands provide entertainment while local area companies volunteer their time pouring and serving beverages for the crowd in attendance.

The effort has raised nearly $650,000, and every dollar raised stays local to support the needs of the community.

Every year several companies volunteer teams to staff a Thursday evening once per summer. Each company selected serves in this coveted role for three years, and then new companies are cycled in. This will be RPHC's second year in support of this worthy cause.

Last year's event helped raise over $42,000 for the United Way, with members from Adjusters International and Adjusters International/Basloe, Levin & Cuccaro making an enthusiastic showing: Kerri Clinch, Frank Sardelli, Maria Suppa, Brianna Moyer, Rachele Drinkwine, Jason Hartley, Nicole Caouette and Jill McGlynn.

This year's team included co-coordinators Elena Avetsiuk and Christina Massoud, along with Wendy Stevens, James Udovidchick, Fran Mazza, Kayla Russell, Nikki Caouette, Sandra Hoyland, and Richard Smith. Check out the photos of them that were featured by the Utica Observer-Dispatch!
